5:41am...
Just got home and brushed teeth.
I've had one meal since waking this... afternoon... at 3... and here I am. Just got home having finished writing a report. Well, I didn't actually write the report. More like I found out what the report was about so the other guys could write about it. There was a lot of nothing written about what to do. It's amazing. I didn't do much except bug other groups to tell me what the hell was happening, but they both think I saved the day. That was worth all of... 10%. Now, the other 20 percent involved doing some trial and error stuff. The machine (the closed loop position controller servomechanism system) is picky. As precise as I'd *like* to get, yeah right... the system likes going unstable and making a loud noise at me. scary! Here I was doing that all alone, locked in a big lab in the wee hours of the night while my group members have no idea where I am and are afraid I've fallen asleep.
Then I wrote up all of 2 pages, and intend to hand that in. 20% for 3 people. They did 43 pages. 10%. something a little weird in the marking scheme?
Now, a good question would be how I got locked in the lab at that insane hour. Considering I went looking just to see if the lab was still open, I didn't have paper or pencil. After finding it locked and preparing to find people who know what's going on, I serendipidously pass a group from class who are dragging over some old man with a key. They give me paper and a pencil, and explain to me what I'm doing before they leave. What luck!
Then while biking home, my back brakes freeze. I had to stop with the front brakes. Me, bikes, snow and no back brakes... I'm destined for another scar!
So, that's 3 reports done this week... 3 more to go! well... 2.5. I spent all last night working on ONE problem in excel, so the report is only half done. I hate excel. Everyone tells me I'm doing the problem right, except the numbers aren't working out. I can't find the decimal I misplaced, cause that's gotta be the reason for it. I just know it. One little dot about 1mm out of place.
5:53am.
For those of you at home who think I do nothing at school... normally you'd be right. By the way, anyone know someplace looking for an engineer starting january?
