wedding...
So, I guess it's finally time I get around to writing about Danielle's wedding, since it was fabulous!

Let's see...
Well, it turned out that Victor and I were celebrating our 6 month anniversary on February 5, the wedding day. After a marvelous dinner at Lee Garden the Friday before the wedding, courtesy of the bride's father, I drove to Waterloo to pick him up. He sat me down, lit some candles, and gave me a half dozen stems of blue orchids and a slice of cake from William's. Mmmm.... :)
The next morning we had to be at Danielle's to get our hair done. We went to the hair dresser, and the guy doing my hair took like an hour and a half and it was falling out when he was done. Danielle's hair looked fabulous... she looked gorgeous... But while she went to the bathroom (cause it took forever to get her hair done), the girl put me in the chair, took my hair out, and redid it better in just 5 mins.
Later, we're in the limo on the way to the ceremony. Danielle notices the champagne glasses, and asks if there's any in the car. Her dad says they offered it, complimentary, and he had refused it thinking she didn't drink. She freaked, saying she needed it, and why didn't he take the complimentary stuff?! The chauffeur mentioned he had a bottle of champagne in the trunk, for the way back. Danielle asked him for it, and he pulled over to get it for her. Victor, meanwhile, was following, and didn't know what was going on. (He ended up finding his way no prob, but it was still funny.)
The wedding itself was great, but Danielle was so nervous, her bouquet was shaking the entire time. The music while she walked down the aisle was composed and played by one of the other bridesmaid's boyfriend. *sigh*... It was a beautiful wedding. :) Danielle... I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU... *sniff*...
My little girl, all grown up...
:)
So we all had to finish the champagne on the way to the reception, which was a 5 min drive. Downing a glass of fizz can be painful, I realized.
The reception was at Hart House, UofT. The pictures were mostle taken outside. We all froze, but the pictures from what I've seen so far are beautiful. (Victor is really happy since we have real professional photographs of just the two of us dressed up super fancy now.)
There was a slide show of Danielle and Vu being played during the reception. Some of them were of when they were just babies. So cute! Some friends of Danielle and mine were playing live music, too.
Dinner was great, and so were the speeches. The same stories came up a lot, such as Lindsay and Danielle trying to fly with cardboard wings, and Lindsay telling Danielle that she actually flew over the portables!! Vu's cousin also played piano, and had a beautiful speech to go along with it. His hands were flying over the keys, and I couldn't even see them move! VERY impressive.
After dinner, Danielle had invited about 60 swing dancers to the wedding. They're all people she knows fairly well, and I know a lot of them, too. They go out dancing on a regular basis, and they're all super fantastic! People were so intimidated to go dance, cause the dancers were almost live entertainment. The band was live, playing trumpet, drums, and they're a fave band of Danielle's. They sounded awesome, and seemed to be having a great time. Danielle and Vu did a dance circle, where people encircle them and they dance with people who keep cutting in to dance with them. I got to dance with each of them. So proud!
Victor had taken some dance lessons, so we danced a good bit. I think he was a little sad thinking that he couldn't impress me (though he'd be dead wrong) as much as the 'pros' I was dancing with... (They danced with me cause hey, it's Danielle's wedding, of course they'll dance!)
It was a fun wedding.
She gave us all CDs as souvenirs. It has a bunch of songs they like or have memories of for some reason.
Danielle and Vu are in Hawaii right now, celebrating their honeymoon.
You go girl!
